As a charter school authorizer, our goal is to support an educational ecosystem where schools thrive, students succeed, and graduates find clear pathways to local careers.

The City of North Las Vegas will not be completing the authorizing schedule in 2026 and will not be accepting new charter school applications in 2026.

Please note that the City is currently subject to the provisions of NRS 338A.220(4)(a), which limits the number of pupils that can be enrolled in schools sponsored by the City.

The timeline below is intended to provide applicants with an understanding of the application process. While City staff intend to meet this timeline, in the event that there is a change or other factor that impacts this timeline, applicants will be notified via email of any changes.

Application Overview

The City of North Las Vegas Charter School Sponsoring Office is located within the Education Initiatives Division. Applications will be submitted and travel to a transparent and comprehensive process which will begin in this Division, work through an internal Charter Advising Committee, City Management and Elected Officials.
