The Third Annual City of North Las Vegas School Mariachi Competition

Held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the scenic Amphitheater at Craig Ranch Park, this powerful event brought together over 18 talented middle and high school mariachi teams from across the valley.

From the first note to the final bow, each performance lit up the stage with passion, precision, and pride. These young musicians didn’t just play music—they told stories, honored their heritage, and brought their communities to life through every song. Led by Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown, joined by the North Las Vegas City Council, and supported by hundreds of cheering attendees, the event became more than a competition—it became a symbol of unity, excellence, and cultural pride.

Mariachi education is about far more than music. It builds self-esteem, fosters academic achievement, and keeps students engaged and excited about learning. Events like this reinforce the value of cultural expression and demonstrate how the arts can transform lives.

While a few teams took home top honors and prize money for their school programs, every student who took the stage was a winner. Their dedication, discipline, and heart inspired everyone in attendance.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the participating schools, families, community members, staff, vendors, and city leaders who made this event possible. Together, we celebrated more than just music—we celebrated our future.
