This work area provides professional land surveying and construction surveying, which include map review for compliance with NRS and City Municipal Codes, implementation, monitoring, maintenance and installation of the City horizontal control reference network and survey control monumentation, installation, verification and maintenance of the City’s vertical control benchmark system for compliance with established guidelines and to monitor subsidence; and land surveys for the City including the City Boundary, annexation surveys, rights-of-way acquisition, property and topographic design surveys for improvements to the City’s infrastructure and Capital Improvement Program.

GIS and Mapping

The GIS group provides centralization, updating and maintenance of the City’s geographic information system (GIS), facility mapping and asset management.
