The Fire Prevention Inspection Team aims to provide a reasonable level of life safety and property protection from fire, explosions, and other hazards by conducting fire inspections of new and existing buildings, structures, and premises to ensure compliance with locally adopted fire codes and nationally recognized safety standards. Additionally, we strive to educate the public on the importance of fire safety in all activities. Temporary Permit & Special Events - To apply for a special event or temporary permit, please submit your completed application packet documents to North Las Vegas Fire Prevention. Depending on the event or permit type, additional information may be required.

Operational Permits - In accordance with adopted fire codes, the following operations are subject to permitting by North Las Vegas Fire Prevention.

Hazardous Materials – An operational permit is required to store, transport on site, dispense, use or handle hazardous materials in excess of the amounts listed in Table 105.6.20. and Chapter 50 of the 2018 International Fire Code. Use the links below to assist you in this process.

Knox Box - North Las Vegas Fire Prevention utilizes Knox Boxes to provide secure and rapid access for our first responders. These systems allow emergency personnel to quickly enter commercial and residential properties while minimizing property damage. To order a Knox Key Box, please click on the following link: Emergency Key Box – Knox Rapid Access System. Once your Knox Box is installed, contact the Fire Prevention Office at 702-633-2616 to schedule an appointment for assistance with securing a copy of your keys inside. If you already have a Knox Key Box and need to update or replace the keys stored inside, call 702-633-2616 for assistance.
