September is National Library Card Sign-up Month, a time to encourage the community to visit your local library and obtain a free card. The North Las Vegas Library District is unveiling a special, limited-edition library card to commemorate the City’s 80th Anniversary, and is celebrating throughout the month at its three locations – Alexander Library, Aliante Library and City Hall Library. Visitors can earn tickets throughout the month to win items such Amazon Kindles, autographed Las Vegas Aces gear and more. Tickets are earned by signing up for a new card, checkouts during the month (limit 1 ticket per day), attending the kickoff STEM event or participating in the Golden Library Card Scavenger Hunt.

 

“A library card provides so many benefits, from traveling the world for free through the power of books and free STEM activities to gaining access to programs like Mango Languages that help you learn more than 70 languages,” said North Las Vegas Library District Director Forrest Lewis. “We’re promoting ‘80 Reasons to Get Your Library Card’ as part of the city’s anniversary, but we really want to inspire people of all ages to see everything their local library has to offer year-round.”
