The City of North Las Vegas invites residents and their furry companions to the 7th Annual Paws in the Park, held Oct. 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Aliante Nature Discovery Park. This free community event celebrates pet health, wellness and fun for the whole family. 

Attendees can receive free on‑site pet vaccinations and microchips provided by Hearts Alive Village. Registration opens Sept. 8. Call Hearts Alive Village at (702) 780-0002 for its North Decatur Boulevard clinic or (702) 297-7303 for its South Nelis Boulevard clinic to reserve your spot. The Pet Health & Wellness Fair also features free pet exams, veterinary care and spay/neuter service referral vouchers while supplies last. 

The park will be filled with activities, including a Halloween Doggie Pawrade, trick‑or‑treat stations, food trucks, live music and family‑friendly entertainment. 

Pet owners are encouraged to participate in the Doggie Costume Contest and Dog & Hooman Twinning Photo Contest. 

Contest categories and judging criteria include: 

Dog Costume Contest 
• Creativity: 50% 
• Visual impact: 50% 

Dog & Hooman Twinning Contest 
• Creativity: 50% 
• Likeness: 50% 

To enter, email one high‑resolution photo to pawsintheparkphoto@cityofnorthlasvegas.com. Include your name and your dog’s name. Only one entry per person is permitted. Entries must be submitted by Oct. 19, 2026, with winners announced during an awards ceremony at the event on Oct. 24 at Aliante Nature Discovery Park.
