On May 20, 2026, the City of North Las Vegas adopted a new ordinance regulating the use of e-bikes and e-scooters on city roadways, sidewalks, parks and trails. The regulations were adopted to protect the safety of all who walk, ride, drive and recreate in the city of North Las Vegas, and to promote the responsible use of e-bikes and e-scooters.
Required Safety Gear
- Helmet (required for minors)
- Front white light visible from 500 ft. at night
- Rear red reflector or red light
- Working brakes
- Bell or horn (no sirens or whistles)
Key Safety Rules
- Obey all traffic lights and signs
- Do not exceed posted speed limits
- Ride on the right side of the road, in the direction of traffic
- Use bike lanes when available
- Yield to pedestrians at sidewalks, alleys and driveways
- No reckless behavior (e.g., no stunts, no wheelies, no texting, no speeding, etc.)
- Keep at least on hand on handlebars at all times
- No riding with more people than the device is designed for

Parents and guardians are financially responsible for fines incurred by minors. Devices may be impounded, and the owner will be subject to additional fees for release.
