Dolores Huerta Resource Center Celebrates Anniversary

Post Date:05/20/2026 2:00 p.m.

The City of North Las Vegas celebrated the one-year anniversary of the Dolores Huerta Resource Center by serving 1,200 community members through a resource fair featuring a free farmers market, service providers offering education, health and wellness, workforce development, pet assistance and legal resources, as well as live mariachi music performed by North Las Vegas students.

Since opening on April 22, 2025, the Dolores Huerta Resource Center has supported nearly 10,000 individuals and connected residents with 30 different service providers.

"When the City opened the doors of the Dolores Huerta Resource Center, we made a commitment to show up for our neighbors through health services, workforce development, education, technology, legal workshops, and support of arts and culture, and I am proud to say we have delivered,” said North Las Vegas Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown.  “I am proud of what we have accomplished in our first year, and I am energized by what is still ahead."

In its first year, the center provided food assistance to more than 3,000 households, physical and mental health care services to 2,600 individuals, sustained a 100% graduation rate from its adult literacy programs and hosted a range of workforce development courses, among other programming.

The Just One Project, a local nonprofit organization known for its innovative solutions to food insecurity, case management and wraparound services, has operated the DHRC since its opening.

"Year one of the Dolores Huerta Resource Center has been a success in so many ways. We created real access to resources in North Las Vegas that reached the entire valley, we built a strong partnership with City leadership and City Council, and most importantly, the community has embraced the DHRC as an inclusive, trusted space where people feel seen and heard. Our partners feel welcome and engaged, and our team is proud of the work they show up to do every day. That is what success looks like for The Just One Project," said The Just One Project CEO Brooke Neubauer.
