North Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency Announces Grants for Businesses and Homeowners
Funds available for street-facing projects and environmental evaluations
The North Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency (RDA) has three grant programs designed to enhance neighborhoods and support environmental cleanup efforts. The programs offer financial assistance to commercial property owners, residential property owners and developers looking to invest in North Las Vegas.
“Whether you're a business owner looking to refresh your storefront or a homeowner wanting to improve your curb appeal, we want to make it easier for you to invest in our community,” said North Las Vegas Councilwoman and Redevelopment Agency Chair Ruth Garcia-Anderson. “The Redevelopment Agency exists to strengthen our older neighborhoods, and these programs are a direct reflection of that commitment."
Commercial Façade Improvement Program
The Commercial Facade Improvement program will reimburse business owners up to $75,000 for enhancements to the exterior of businesses in Redevelopment Areas. Eligible improvements include facades, lighting, doors and windows, finishes and more. Businesses located in property tax districts 253, 255 or 256 are within the redevelopment area boundary. EPA Brownfields Assessment Grant Program
Through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Brownfields Program, the RDA is offering assessment grants to help developers and property owners evaluate commercial properties for potential hazardous materials or contamination. Grant funds pay for Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments, which identify contaminants in soil and hazardous materials in structures.
Common examples of eligible Brownfields sites include former gas stations, auto repair shops, chemical storage sites and commercial buildings that may contain asbestos or lead-based paint. Eligible properties must be located within the boundaries of the City of North Las Vegas.
