Motorists encouraged to utilize alternative routes
Construction on the Las Vegas Boulevard North Improvement project will begin Monday, April 6. The project, which includes upgraded storm drainage systems, modernized underground utilities, and new pavement, stretches from East Tonopah Avenue to East Carey Avenue.
Las Vegas Boulevard North will remain open during construction, but motorists should expect lane closures and traffic shifts. Starting Wednesday, April 8 traffic will be shifted to the southbound side of North Las Vegas Boulevard from North Bruce Street to East Carey Avenue. The change will be in effect for approximately one month.
The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada and the Clark County Regional Flood Control District are funding the $38 million project, which is expected to take approximately 18 months to complete. Normal construction hours are 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
