The North Las Vegas Police Department’s Northwest Area Command police station, located at 3755 W. Washburn Rd., was dedicated in honor of fallen Detective Chad Parque, exactly nine years to the day after his end of watch. The Parque family joined the North Las Vegas Mayor and City Council and Police Department Command Staff for a ceremony to rename the building and unveil a bronze plaque.

Detective Parque was critically injured in a head-on collision with a car traveling the wrong way on Martin Luther King Boulevard, near Carey Avenue, on Jan. 6, 2017. He succumbed to his injuries the following day, Jan. 7, 2017. Parque, 32, was a 10-year veteran of the North Las Vegas Police Department.
