North Las Vegas Fire Department Partners with Bomberos Latinos to Donate Retired Firefighting Equipment to Underserved Communities

Bomberos Latinos delegates will receive the keys to a retired fire truck and other life-saving equipment donated by the North Las Vegas Fire Department on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 11 a.m. through a partnership to elevate the public safety capability of an impoverished community.

NLVFD first partnered with Bomberos Latinos, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting fire departments in underserved areas for more than 25 years in Mexico and Latin America, in 2017. Equipment is donated when it reaches the end of its useful life under National Fire Protection Association standards, but is still useable.

Bomberos Latinos will deliver a 1999 Pierce Quantum 65-foot Telesquirt fire truck being donated by NLVFD to the Cabo San Lucas Fire Department and provide training on how to use the equipment. Previous NLVFD donations include thermal imaging cameras, EMS equipment and medical supplies that were surplus after the Covid pandemic.
