City of North Las Vegas and Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada Hosting Family-Friendly Biketoberfest Community Ride

Free event is Oct. 4 at Craig Ranch Regional Park

Cooler weather in Southern Nevada means more opportunities to spend the days outside. The City of North Las Vegas and Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) invite the community to Biketoberfest, a free, family-friendly fun ride, on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 10 a.m. Bring your bikes and helmets to Craig Ranch Regional Park’s Garden Plaza, located on the north end of the park near Camino El Norte and West Lone Mountain Rd. Biketoberfest will have food trucks, vendors, entertainment and two trail options for riders of all skill levels. Intermountain Health will be giving away 25 youth bike helmets and ensuring proper helmet safety and fittings for all riders.

"North Las Vegas offers so many great amenities for the Southern Nevada community, especially for avid bicyclists like me,” says North Las Vegas Mayor Pro Tempore Scott Black. “The RTC is just as committed as the City to providing safe and convenient biking opportunities, so partnering with them for Biketoberfest is a great way to showcase our bike trails and parks.”

“We are thrilled to partner with the City of North Las Vegas to mark Biketoberfest, a month-long celebration of cycling in Southern Nevada,” said M.J. Maynard-Carey, CEO, RTC. “North Las Vegas has long been regarded as one of the region’s best places to ride a bike. We encourage cyclists of all skill levels to join us on Oct. 4 for what is sure to be a fun day of cycling and family fun.”

Pre-registration for the free event is available at www.cityofnorthlasvegas.com/biketoberfest or participants can sign up at the event. A waiver is required as part of the registration.
