North Las Vegas Police Department Will Welcome 18 New Officers During Academy Graduation Ceremony on Sept. 11

WHAT: The North Las Vegas Police Department will welcome 18 new officers when recruits graduate from the North Las Vegas Police Academy on Thursday, Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. Five additional graduates for the Clark County School District Police Department will participate in the ceremony, which will be held at College of Southern Nevada’s Horn Theatre, located at 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave.

Cheered on by family, friends and peers, the North Las Vegas Police recruits will be pinned with their new badges by Chief of Police Jacqueline Gravatt followed by a swearing-in ceremony. NLVPD recruit class 2025-1 is comprised of five women and 13 men, seven of whom are bilingual.

BACKGROUND: The North Las Vegas Police Academy runs 24 weeks and provides more than 1,000 hours of instruction in the basic knowledge, skills and abilities required of a police officer, as well as advanced subjects such as tactics, use of firearms and emergency vehicle operations. The newly minted police officers will go on to complete 17-23 weeks of field training.
