Ceremonial Signing of Apex Area Technical Correction Act

Post Date:08/26/2025 11:59 a.m.

The City of North Las Vegas joined federal and state leaders to celebrate the passage of the Apex Area Technical Correction Act with a ceremonial signing ceremony.

The legislation, championed by U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) and Congressman Steven Horsford (D-Nev.-04) and signed into law by President Donald Trump in July, is a victory for economic development in North Las Vegas. It streamlines development at the Apex Industrial Park and allows the City of North Las Vegas to issue permits for necessary utilities services, including electric, water, natural gas, phone and rail along right-of-ways. Previously, businesses would have to go through the Bureau of Land Management.

“This law fast tracks infrastructure development that will lead to quality jobs in North Las Vegas,” said Mayor Goynes-Brown. “I am grateful to Sen. Cortez Masto and Congressman Horsford for pushing the Apex Area Technical Corrections Act through and helping North Las Vegas unlock Apex’s full potential.”

Once completely built out, Apex is expected to create 73,000 jobs and $7 billion of investment over the next 20 years, adding tax revenue that will support public safety, parks, roads, libraries and other services for North Las Vegas residents.
