City of North Las Vegas Kicks Off Hispanic Heritage Month with Community Celebration at City Hall’s Liberty Park
The City of North Las Vegas will launch Hispanic Heritage Month with its Fifth Annual Kickoff Celebration at Liberty Park outside North Las Vegas City Hall on Sunday, Sept. 14, from 1-9 p.m.
The event will feature a commemoration of El Grito de Dolores, the battle cry of the Mexican War of Independence from Spain, led by Mexican Consul General Patricia Cortes Guadarrama. Attendees can also enjoy cultural performances, family-friendly activities, food and live music headlined by Conjunto Brio Norteño.
“Hispanic Heritage Month is a celebration of family, culture and unity,” said North Las Vegas Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown. “It’s a time to reflect on the rich traditions that shape our community and to honor the generations who have built such a strong foundation for our city’s future.”

"Our city is shaped by the stories, dreams and hard work of families from every background and Hispanic Heritage Month is a special time to honor that legacy,” said Councilman Isaac Barron. “It’s about coming together as neighbors, sharing our pride and celebrating the spirit of community.”
