WHEN: Wednesday, Aug. 13 at 9 a.m.
WHERE: North Las Vegas Municipal Court
2332 Las Vegas Blvd. N., North Las Vegas, NV 89030
BACKGROUND: The primary focus of the North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center is rehabilitation rather than incarceration. The I AM POSSIBLE program was established in 2021 through the Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Grant Program and is the first of its kind in Nevada municipal jails. I AM POSSIBLE provides offenders who have a substance abuse disorder with tools for recovery, with the goal of reducing recidivism by 50%.
Offenders may enter the program voluntarily or through a court order. Participants receive individualized treatment plans including cognitive and behavioral therapy. The 30-day treatment plan is meant to provide the incarcerated community with introductory tools for substance abuse recovery and they are encouraged to continue rehabilitation post-release.
