City of North Las Vegas Hosts Annual Back to School Giveaway

WHO: The City of North Las Vegas, community partners, volunteer barbers and City staff.

WHAT: Hundreds of local students and their families attended the annual Back to School Giveaway, where they received free backpacks, school supplies, shoes and haircuts to help them start the school year strong. The event also featured community resource booths and family-friendly activities.

WHY: The City of North Las Vegas hosted the annual giveaway to help local families get a jumpstart on the school year by easing the cost of supplies and offering free resources in one place. From backpacks to haircuts, the event was designed to boost confidence and readiness for students while connecting families to programs and services that support long-term success. It is part of the city’s larger effort, outlined in its 2025-2030 Strategic Plan, to improve community engagement and cultivate community well-being
