City of North Las Vegas Announces Safekey Program Details for 2025-26 School Year

Clark County School District students are gearing up to begin the new school year, and the City of North Las Vegas wants to remind parents and guardians about opportunities for child care, both before and after school, through Safekey. This is a structured enrichment program open to Kindergarten through 5th Grade students designed to keep them active through social events while also providing time to complete schoolwork. Each student also receives a nutritious hot meal every day. The morning program begins at 7 a.m. Monday through Friday while after-school sessions run from 3 to 6 p.m.

“Safekey provides a sheltered space for students to engage with their friends instead of being alone after school, all under the direct supervision of trained staff,” says Recreation Coordinator Charlice Jordan. “This really is a vital program in our community as many of the City’s youth would be going to an empty home after school. At Safekey, they can catch up on their homework and participate in arts and crafts, fitness activities and even expand their knowledge of STEM-related subjects.”
