A law to streamline development at the Apex Industrial Complex in North Las Vegas is now in effect. The Apex Area Technical Corrections Act allows the City of North Las Vegas to issue permits for necessary utilities services, including electric, water, natural gas, phone and rail along right-of-ways. Previously, businesses would have to go through the Bureau of Land Management.
"The City of North Las Vegas strongly supports the Apex Area Technical Corrections Act. This act fast tracks infrastructure development that will lead to quality jobs. In the past, securing BLM rights-of-way for roads, water, power, and other utilities took years for each individual use which delayed progress and investment. This legislation allows for a unified, streamlined process that will save time, reduce redundancy, and unlock Apex’s full potential without compromising environmental review or agency oversight,” said Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown. “We thank Senator Cortez Masto and Congressman Horsford for championing this commonsense solution and look forward to continued collaboration to grow our economy and deliver results for North Las Vegas and the region."
Once completely built out, Apex is expected to create 73,000 jobs and $7 billion of investment over the next 20 years, adding tax revenue that will support public safety, parks, roads, libraries and other services for North Las Vegas residents.
