City of North Las Vegas Hosts Juneteenth Flag Raising Ceremony


WHAT: 
The City of North Las Vegas held its annual Juneteenth Flag Raising Ceremony to commemorate the Juneteenth holiday, which honors the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and celebrates the ongoing pursuit of freedom and equality in the United States. The City held its first flag-raising event on June 3, 2021. On June 19, 2021, North Las Vegas became the first city in Nevada to issue a proclamation formally recognizing Juneteenth as a city holiday.

The City also proudly supported Assembly Bill 140, the legislation that established Juneteenth as a state holiday in 2023.
