  • Due to the volume of online submittals, you may experience delays in processing. For optimal processing time of your submittal, please visit the Permit Application Center in person at City Hall. For smaller projects like block walls and signs, please bring your electronic plans in a flash drive, or be prepared to upload to our staff's computer at the counter. For larger projects, we will ask you to download your electronic plans once processing is completed at the counter.
  • REQUESTS FOR EXPEDITE PLAN REVIEW ARE STILL BEING ACCEPTED.  HOWEVER, DUE TO THE CURRENT WORKING ENVIRONMENT WE ARE OPERATING UNDER, WE CAN NO LONGER GUARANTEE THE NORMAL TURN-AROUND TIME FOR INITIAL REVIEW AND/OR SUBSEQUENT REVIEWS OR REVISIONS.  EXPEDITE REVIEW FEES WILL REMAIN THE SAME. STAFF AND OUR THIRD PARTY AGENCIES ARE DOING THEIR BEST TO EXPEDITE YOUR REVIEWS.  YOU ARE ACCEPTING THESE CONDITIONS AS PART OF YOUR EXPEDITE REQUESTS.


All fees shall be made using the citizen self-service (CSS) portal via credit card, checks mailed to the City will also be accepted.

Permits will be issued electronically, as well as Certificates of Occupancies and Temporary Certificates of Occupancy.

For Certificates of Occupancy; send request to buildingsafetyinquiries@cityofnorthlasvegas.com. For Temporary Certificates to Occupy; fill out the application on line and send to same email address.

For new Single Family construction, your permit will become the Certificate of Occupancy upon receiving an approved final building inspection. You will need to print a copy of the permit for your records.

Inspections can be requested using the citizen self-service (CSS) portal. All the following scopes will be performed via video means. Your inspector will confirm the method of video prior to the inspection.

Welcome to the City of North Las Vegas Building & Fire Safety Division. This Division performs plan review, issues permits, performs inspections and code enforcement for conformity to the City of North Las Vegas Municipal Codes and current adopted construction codes.
The Building & Fire Safety Division strives to provide the highest customer service by creating innovative processes to accommodate the services needed during our hours of operation, and by providing the appropriate contact numbers to assist in those services.

Request for Research and/or Information
Please complete the Request for Research/Information Request. In the item description, be as detailed as possible.  If your request involves several addresses, please attach a listing of the addresses involved.
If requesting copies of plans, please be aware that you will be required to provide a letter of release from the engineer/architect of record with a wet stamp and signature.  In accordance with the Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) 623.780, drawings and specifications remain the property of the design professional. Once we receive your request, our office will contact you. 

Fees assessed for research requests are listed in NLVMC 2.44.020.
