What if I do not have a computer or I am having problems with my computer?
Public Access computers are available at North Las Vegas Library District branches. Click here for locations and days/times.
How do I apply for positions with the City of North Las Vegas?
For most positions you must first complete the online application on the CNLV iRecruitment web site. On the iRecruitment front page click “Register today” to begin the process or if you have previously registered, enter your email address and password to login. In the “Quick Link” box, search for the desired job opening and click on the “Apply Now” icon on the right side of the posting to apply for the position.
What do I do if I can't remember my login information?
If you remember your user name (email address) but have forgotten your password, you can enter the user name and then click the “I forgot password” link. A new password will be sent to you via email within 24 hours. Even though the new password appears in upper-case letters, enter the new password in lower-case letters
What information will I need for the application?
You will provide general information such as name, address and phone number. There will be screens for both educational history and work experience. When completing the work history portion you will need to provide the employer’s name, the month and year you began and ended work (where applicable), and a summary of job duties.
If I don't have all my application information at hand should I terminate my application and come back later to finish?
No. Only terminate your application if you do not want to be considered for the position. If you terminate your application the system will not allow you to reapply later using the same email user ID. You will have to make a fresh application using a different email address.
Also, to avoid system time-out problems, complete the application process within 1 hour.
Can I attach a resume or cover letter?
Yes. You may attach a resume and cover letter as you apply for each position. Electronic documents in Word or PDF format are most commonly used and can be attached during the application process. These documents should be in black and white only and should NOT include pictures. Please remember to bring your resume or cover letter in electronic format with you to the HR office if you plan to use these computers to apply.
If you are having problems uploading your resume or receiving messages that your resume cannot be previewed by CNLV managers, please save your resume in one of the following file formats: PDF, .doc, .rtf or .txt and upload again with a different file format. Only one resume may be saved in the resume section. Use the Add Another Resume/Document button on the My Personal Information page to submit other documents (cover letter, certificates, etc.).
Can I attach a resume or cover letter produced in Word 2007 or above?
If you're creating your resume or cover letter in any other version of MS-Word than Word 97-2003, save your document as a Word 97-2003 document before uploading into the City’s online recruiting system or save the file in PDF format..
How do I update or make changes to a document that I have uploaded into my profile?
Log into your CNLV iRecruitment account and then follow these steps:
In the top left corner of the screen, locate the solid blue line with the “General” or “My Account” links
Click on the “My Account” link.
Click on the “Personal Information” link.
Scroll down to the documents section and click on the delete icon next to the document that needs revision.
In the same section, click on the button to "Add another resume/document."
Follow the system steps to upload the revised document.
Troubleshooting Tips for Completing the application:
- WHY WHEN I ENTER MY EMPLOYMENT HISTORY OR EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS, IT DOES NOT APPEAR IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER?
Employment and education history stores in the order it was entered. However, when the recruiting or hiring manager reviews applications, the history is automatically sorted in chronological order. You do not need to be concerned about this.
- I’M GETTING AN ERROR MESSAGE, “ THE START AND END DATES FOR THE QUALIFICATIONS ARE OUTSIDE OF THE START AND END DATES OF THE ESTABLISHMENT ATTENDANCE”
This typically happens when the person uploads their resume and the data is parsed into the application incorrectly or data manually entered is missing dates. Review to ensure all job records have a Start and End Date and all education information has a Start and End date.
- I'M GETTING AN “ERROR PAGE” MESSAGE WHAT DO I DO?
If you receive the following error: ‘You have encountered an unexpected error. Please contact the System Administrator for assistance.’
This could be a number of things: the URL is temporarily unavailable, try deleting the cookies from your browser and logging in again. If those do not fix the issue, log off and shut down your computer, then try logging in again.

These web browsers will not perform properly.
- AOL Web Browser
Unsupported web browsers may generate errors with our iRecruitment job site.
Examples of errors may include:
- When creating an account no response from the application when the Submit button is clicked.
- When resetting a password there is no response from the application when the Login button is clicked.
- An error message: "Your account has not been set up properly. Please contact the site administrator informing them that your login is not associated with a person."
If you do not download a supporter browser, or continue to receive an error message, Computers are available at the CNLV Human Resources offices Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. Computers are also available at your local library.
I am using AOL as my Browser and I am having problems registering and navigating the application.
Do not access our online employment application directly through America Online (AOL). If you use AOL on your PC, open Internet Explorer outside of AOL and navigate back to this site and apply. The iRecruitment web site will not work properly in an America Online (AOL) environment.
The only Browser that is certified by Oracle as compatible with the Recruitment application is Internet Explorer 7 or above.
I am using Internet Explorer but I'm still encountering technical errors in iRecruitment.
Try deleting the temporary internet files that buildup on your PC. Go to Tools, on the top of your browser and click Internet Options…. Click on Delete Files…. (No need to delete Cookies or other passwords and settings.) Also, avoid using your browser “Back” and “Forward” buttons while in iRecruitment. Use the navigation buttons in the application to move from page to page.
