The Fire Operations Division is responsible for daily emergency services response. Eight fire stations deploy personnel for twenty-four hour emergency response to fires, medical emergencies, natural & man-made disasters, as well as other calls for service. Uniform personnel participate in training, conduct safety inspections / commercial risk assessments, initiate life safety drills, maintain equipment in a state of readiness, and interact with the public on fire prevention issues as part of a daily routine.
The Department currently operates with one hundred forty-eight (148) operations personnel divided into two 3-platoon shifts, with 1/3 of them on duty at a time. Each of the 6 platoons is supervised by a Battalion Chief and overseen by the Assistant Fire Chief of Operations. Each apparatus is supervised by a Captain, vehicle operations are conducted by an Engineer and supported with a minimum of two firefighters. The department currently operates up to seven transport capable rescues which are staffed with a firefighter and paramedic. All calls for services are directed through the Las Vegas Fire Alarm Office which provides dispatch service for the North Las Vegas, Las Vegas and Clark County Fire Departments. Emergency responses are assigned to closest appropriate unit using automatic vehicle locator system regardless of jurisdiction.
The North Las Vegas Fire Department currently operates out of eight strategically located fire stations:
( Station 50 , Station 51, Station 52, Station 53, Station 54, Station 55, Station 56, Station 57)
