Our mission… To advance the City of North Las Vegas vision by providing consistent outreach and engagement to the unhoused in your community of choice.

HST will address the City's homeless challenges in a 3-pronged approach:
- Street Outreach
- Prevention and Diversion
- Emergency Housing through referrals and vouchers
The Homeless Outreach and Mobile Engagement (H.O.M.E.) Team is a four-person team that does street outreach and lives by the motto...
Bridging the Gap, meeting the Homeless where they’re at.
There are several gaps that need to be filled in order to help someone out of homelessness, whether that be addressing the behavioral issues that keep people on the street or jumping multiple barriers that the cycle of poverty has placed on generations so they can easily lose their homes.
The H.O.M.E. Team engages the homeless wherever they are and works with them to bridge those gaps that keep them from being housed.
H.O.M.E. Team street outreach workers respond to requests for homeless engagement as well as through proactive daily outreach. The H.O.M.E. Team promise consistent outreach and engagement, with the goal of connecting people to the Southern Nevada Homeless Continuum of Care, providing stability through shelters and programs that are a first step in the process to turning lives around.
Preventions and Diversion
HST has partnered with the Community Correctional Center (CCC) and CARE Court program, which seek to address factors that underlie defendants’ criminal behavior in an effort to reduce recidivism. The M.O.R.E. Team will go into the CCC and offer CoC resources to inmates that qualify for the CARE Court program.
For more information, please visit the Municipal Court web site:
Emergency Housing through referrals and vouchers
Every homeless individual that comes into contact with the H.O.M.E. Team will be offered a housing assessment and entered into the greater Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). The assessment determines the type of housing that is most appropriate and the H.O.M.E. Team will refer that individual to that housing source, as well as other immediate resources.
Additionally, the CARES Housing Assistance Program (CHAP) serves residents of Clark County who have suffered substantial financial hardship and now lack sufficient income or resources available to pay their housing costs because of the COVID-19 emergency or the response to that emergency.
