Alfredo Melesio, Jr.
Assistant City Manager
Alfredo Melesio, Jr., AICP, is Assistant City Manager of the City of North Las Vegas.
Before assuming his current role in November 2018, Alfredo served as Director of Land
Development and Community Services for the City of North Las Vegas for two years and has
been a dedicated local government professional for more than 20 years, specializing in
community and economic development.
As Director of Land Development and Community Services, Alfredo led multiple teams
specializing in building and fire safety, business licensing and permitting, code enforcement,
federal and state grants, and planning and zoning. With a budget of $16 million and 60 full-time
employees, Alfredo’s team issued permits totaling more than $1.2 billion, processed over 1,700
new business licenses, platted thousands of lots for residential, commercial and industrial
development, stewarded $12 million in federal grants, and removed enough graffiti to paint a
line from North Las Vegas to Denver.
Alfredo employs a “people strategy” to align city services with residents’ needs and is a leader in
the effort to make City Hall more accessible to the public.
Alfredo has been a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners since 2000 and holds
a master’s degree in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois-Chicago and a
bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. Alfredo previously was
employed by the City of Joliet, Illinois.
When you meet, his passion for explaining municipal work and his experience across multiple
divisions of local government is evident immediately. That knowledge and enthusiasm now is
being applied citywide to continue to steer North Las Vegas toward its bright future.
