Laura Marscheck

LAURA MARSCHECK

Ms. Marscheck originally moved to Southern Nevada in 1987. She started employment with the City of North Las Vegas Police Department in February of 1990 and has held various positions within the Department.

In 2002 she transferred into her current position as Professional Standards Coordinator, wherein she maintains the Department’s policies and procedures. These experiences has given her a solid foundation on which to coordinate the North Las Vegas Police Chief’s Advisory Council.

It is part of Ms. Marscheck’s job to keep the meeting minutes and handle various research projects to provide responses and answers to the council members. When asked about the dynamics of the council she stated, “We have a group of diverse individuals who truly care about the community they serve. They consistently strive to give their best back to the community.”

Mimi Devore Rigg

MIMI DEVORE-RIGG

Ms. Devore-Rigg bought a home in North Las Vegas in 1999. Since then she has wanted to find out more about the City that she now calls home.

One of the first endeavors she undertook was to participate in the North Las Vegas Citizen’s Police Academy in 2002. After graduating from the academy she went on to join the auxiliary group of graduates known as the Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni North (C.P.A.A.N.) This group volunteers their time assisting the Police Department in whatever capacity the Department needs. It was through her alliance with this group that she first heard about the North Las Vegas Police Chief’s Advisory Council. Ms. Devore-Rigg became one of our initial members in approximately January 2004.

When asked what she felt was the number one major goal of the North Las Vegas Police Chief’s Advisory Council, she stated, “To bring to the Chief’s attention those concerns and questions that we encounter from the public and to bring back to the public what can be done to address those concerns and questions.”

Ms. Devore-Rigg believes so strongly in the City of North Las Vegas that in August of 2006, she became a employee of another division within the City of North Las Vegas.

S Susan Sayegh

S. SUSAN SAYEGH

Ms. Sayegh is both a business owner and since 1994 a resident of North Las Vegas.  She currently represents the 89032 North Las Vegas community.

She has freely contributed her time and efforts to the North Las Vegas Police Department Police Chief’s Advisory Council since approximately January 2004. During this time she has obtained a vast knowledge and understanding of the Police Department which she has shared with members of her community.

When asked why she chose this avenue she responded with, “My goal has been and continues to be to build and maintain an open line of communication between the Police Department and the residents and business owners of North Las Vegas. I want to be a part of the communication solution and believe that all stakeholders will benefit from stronger lines of communication.”

Harold Ted Johnson

HAROLD T. (TED) JOHNSON

Mr. Johnson has been with the North Las Vegas Police Chief’s Advisory Council since February 2004. He has lived in North Las Vegas in the 89031 community since 1995 and brings three view points to the council. The first viewpoint is that of a retired military police officer, second as a small North Las Vegas business owner, and third as a North Las Vegas homeowner.

When asked what his major goal was for his participation on the North Las Vegas Police Chief’s Advisory Council his answer was, “To find better ways to keep the avenues of communication open between the community and the North Las Vegas Police Department. It is important for the citizens of North Las Vegas to have a way to communicate what issues are important to them and a way of getting the answers to those issues.”

Mr. Johnson has previously attended the North Las Vegas Citizen’s Academy and is an Alumni member of the Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni North (C.P.A.A.N.). He feels that communication is the key. In 2005 he helped participate in a Gun Turn In Program that was set up in response to citizens' complaints about too many weapons on the North Las Vegas streets. As a result of the program, over 1000 guns were brought in. He believes that the North Las Vegas Police Chief’s Advisory Council is another step in the communication process and asks that the community get involved. He states, “We need your input and your interaction if we are to be truly successful.”

Al Greer

AL GREER

Mr. Greer is a Nevada native who has lived in North Las Vegas since 1992 and serves on the North Las Vegas Police Chief’s Advisory Council by representing the 89031 community. Additionally, he owns a business in the 89032 community. All three of his children have attended North Las Vegas schools.

Mr. Greer has served on many different North Las Vegas City committees but says that he has really enjoys working with the North Las Vegas Police Chief’s Advisory Council. When asked why this Council is so important to him he responded, “I want to help open the door of communication with the people of North Las Vegas and the Police Department. I have ideals that can help bridge this gap.”

Mr. Greer has served on this council since approximately February 2006

Oscar Saldana Perez
OSCAR SALDAÑA-PEREZ

Señor Saldaña-Perez has been a member of the North Las Vegas Police Chief’s Advisory Council since approximately March of 2007. He wears many hats as he is a resident of North Las Vegas, as well as a member of the Hispanic community, and he represents the parish community of St. Christopher Catholic Church.

He has expressed a hope that his service on the council will serve as a good intermediary between the Hispanic community and the North Las Vegas Police Department.

Nikolina Flores
NIKOLINA FLORES

Señorita Flores is one of the North Las Vegas Police Chief’s Advisory Council’s newest members, having joined the council in September of 2008. She is excited to represent the 89030 community.

Seniorita. Flores is a native of North Las Vegas. All of her schooling was done in North Las Vegas Schools and she graduated from Rancho High.  Her family has a history of service to North Las Vegas and, in fact, her father has a North Las Vegas park named in his honor: Nicholas E. Flores Jr. Park. She learned at a very early age and from a terrific role model that it is important to get involved with her community. 

When asked what her main goal is for her council seat she replied, “My goal is to get a better understanding of how our Police Department works from the inside out, and to bring the general concerns of the people that live in my area to the Chief. We as a community must work together to make our city be the best it can be.”
