Police Chief's Advisory Council
PEOPLE COMING TOGETHER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN NORTH
LAS VEGAS
The strength of a Police Department is deeply rooted in
the communities which it serves and the quality of service which is delivered
each day. To achieve community expectations, the North Las Vegas Police
Department strives to continuously evaluate and improve our quality of
public safety. The Police Department meets some of these objectives through
self-regulation, strong agency guidelines, and responsiveness to community
concerns and needs. Another avenue to facilitate community expectations
is through community participation in the Police Department. This can
be achieved through citizen academies, review boards, neighborhood councils
and the Police Chief's Advisory Council.
The current Police Chief's Advisory Council is made up of six Community members and two Department members.
The Advisory Council has been asked to participate with the Chief in
providing a voice for the Community. The Council brings forth community issues
for discussion and exploration of solutions. Additionally they strive to assist
in developing and strengthening lines of communication between the Community
and the Police. On behalf of their community they devote at least two
hours or more per month to the Council and its work.
