Bicycling in North Las Vegas
The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Southern Nevada established the 2006 bicycle route system map. The system map is for the City of North Las Vegas and neighboring communities in the Valley.
The department recently signed "Bicycle Route" designations for Decatur Boulevard, Carey Avenue and Pecos Road to comply with the RTC system map. These are "Share the Road" facilities in which the bicyclist shall use the 14 foot wide, shared use lane or break-down lane, for directional travel.
Please remember that cyclists are encouraged to wear a bike helmet when riding, and to travel with motor vehicle traffic flow. For more information, please contact Ish Garza, City Traffic Engineer, at (702) 633-1224.
