Gregory Blackburn joined the City as Building Official in January 2009 after having worked fourteen years for the City of Henderson, with the last eight years as Manager of Inspection Services overseeing Building Inspections and Code Enforcement. While at the City of Henderson, Greg was instrumental in developing a property maintenance code and assisted in the creation of the award winning Development Services Center. Greg has extensive experience in public speaking and working with residents and developers on a variety of issues. He has been involved with regional and national code development for ten years and has taught code classes for over eight years. Greg has also served as President of the Southern Nevada Chapter of the International Code Council.

Greg has seven professional certifications from the International Code Council including the Certified Building Official certification. He has an AA degree from Community College of Southern Nevada in Building Technology, a BA from the University of Phoenix, and will receive his MBA and MPA in June 2009 from the University of Phoenix.
