Project Scope:

The project consists of the design, right-of-way acquisition, and construction of four travel lanes and transit lanes which are separated by landscaped median islands between Carey Avenue to Bruce Street along Las Vegas Boulevard. The improvements for this segment of roadway include median islands, landscaping, AC pavement, concrete sidewalk, utilities relocation/upgrade and striping/signage as appropriate to meet the profiles outlined in the Downtown Master Plan approved by City Council in February 2009. This roadway improvements project will provide vital stimulus plans for Downtown area to begin integrating all modes of transportation and to making it safe and inviting for pedestrian and cyclists.

Project Status, as of December 31, 2009: (updated on a quarterly basis)

Survey information is expected by early January 2010. Traffic Impact Analysis is anticipated to be completed by early January. Preliminary research on existing utilities within the impacted area is in process. A consultant has been obtained to provide geotechnical investigation services for the subject roadway segment of Las Vegas Boulevard.
