Project Scope:

This project consists of the design and construction of approximately 3 miles of urban arterial roadway on Simmons Street, including reconstruction and full width improvements for up to a 100-foot right-of-way width. SID improvements are proposed for the design and construction of approximately 1 1/2 miles of side streets along Simmons. Improvements will include asphalt, raised median islands, curb, gutter, sidewalk, driveways, bus turn-outs, street lights, storm drainage, flood control facilities, relocation of utilities, extension of water and sewer lines, fire hydrants, signing and striping, traffic signals, traffic signal modifications, and other necessary appurtenances.

Project Status, as of December 31, 2009: (updated on a quarterly basis)

The pre-final plans were submitted by VTN on December 14, 2009 for the Phase I drainage improvements. The pre-final package was distributed for final review. The final bid documents are expected to be complete in March 2010 with bid advertisement to occur immediately thereafter.
