Department Background

The North Las Vegas Police Department, located in Nevada, was originally founded in 1946 with an original jurisdiction of almost four (4) square miles and a population of approximately 3,000 persons.

We now service 82.1 square miles and a population of approximately 211,080 persons. Additionally, the City's boundary was recently increased to include an additional 8,000 acres.

As of October 2007 we currently employ 439 commissioned personnel and 258 civilian personnel.
