Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Services Offered

The Record Division is open to request copies of reports or to obtain background checks Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For additional information after business hours there is a red telephone is provided in the front lobby of the building, which is located next to the Records Division front counter.

Costs forServices Offered

Police Reports $5.00 per report
Police Reports on Microfilm $4.00 for first page, $1.00 each additional page
Photographs $10.00 if on disc, $2.00 per page for color photos
SCOPE ( (Background Check) $10.00
Employment Background Check $10.00 - The employer must present a signed release from the employee for whom the background check is being conducted
Register Handguns No fee

Acceptable Forms of Identification

For each of the above services a valid photo identification must be presented. The following is a list of acceptable photo IDs:
  1. Any valid State Driver’s License or State ID issued by the Department of Motor Vehicle
  2. Military Identification
  3. Passport
  4. Resident Alien Card issued by INS

Examples of identification that are not acceptable: health card, work card, or employment ID card.

Additional Services

CONVICTED PERSON REGISTRATION: Convicted sex offenders and other convicted persons living or visiting within the limits of the City of North Las Vegas must register with this Police Department within 48 hours of arriving in our City. (After business hours a temporary registration will be issued 24 hours a day, 7 days a week)

Hours of Operation: Monday through  Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Closed on holidays)

Services Offered

  Non-Gaming Card $35.00 good for 5 years (Employer Referral required)
  Non-Gaming Renewals $35.00 good for 5 years (Employer Referral required)
  Child Care Card $60.00 good for 6 years (Employer Referral required)
  Duplicate Loss/Stolen Card $5.00 (Employee Referral required)
  Fingerprint Service Only $5.00 per card
  Gaming Fingerprint Services $10.00 (To apply for a gaming position)
  Verification Processing $10.00 (must be registered in our City)

Gaming Fingerprint Services are offered for residents of the City of North Las Vegas, or if the employee’s job is located in the City of North Las Vegas.

Juveniles are required to have a work permit issued by Family Youth Services.

All Work Card applications must have one valid photo identification and one additional ID available.

  • December 25 (Christmas Day)


  • If January 1, July 4, November 11 or December 25 falls on a:

  • Sunday, the Monday following is observed as a legal holiday
  • Saturday, the Friday preceding is observed as a legal holiday
