DETECTIVE BUREAU

CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATIONS

Who speaks for the "victims" when they can no longer speak for themselves? Who deals with clues left behind, be it a fingerprint, a paint chip, a solid, liquid, or gas and analyses these facts?
None other than a Crime Scene Investigator.

The North Las Vegas Police Department Crime Scene Investigations Bureau is made up of nine such trained professionals, consisting of both commissioned and civilian employees, all under the supervision of Sgt. Ryan.

In February 2005 a grave yard shift was established, which allows the CSI Bureau to now operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, rather than having to report back as a "call out" once they had gone home for the day.

In addition to the other improvements made, the CSI Bureau has also received two new crime scene vehicles, a major crime scene van and a Ford Expedition. These vehicles will assist them in arriving at various crime scenes with the tools needed.

The Bureau personnel also just completed the printing of their first CSI poster, as seen below. It highlights different CSIs, each performing a different forensic technique.
