Deputy Chief of Police Dunn has been with the North Las Vegas Police Department since 1986 having started as a reserve police officer. He was hired on as a full time officer in July of 1988. He has worked his way up through a variety of assignments which include the following:

  • Patrol Officer
  • S.W.A.T. Officer
  • Narcotics Officer
  • Patrol Sergeant
  • Sergeant over Traffic Fatal Team
  • Internal Affairs Sergeant
  • Internal Affairs Lieutenant
  • Narcotics Lieutenant
  • Lieutenant over S.W.A.T, P.S.U. Unit, and Gang Intelligence and;
  • Special Projects Lieutenant
  • Captain of the Investigative Bureau
  • Captain of South Area Command Operations

Deputy Chief of Police Dunn has also been very active within the community through the following areas:

  • Black Police Officer's Association (B.P.A.)
  • National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (N.O.B.L.E.)
  • Rancho High School Alumni
  • King Solomon Masonic Lodge #2
  • 2008 Emerging Administrator of the Year
  • Others

Deputy Chief of Police Dunn has achieved the following accomplishments throughout his career:

  • Graduate of the F.B.I. Academy
  • Executive P.O.S.T. Certificate
  • AA degree from Clark County Community College in Criminal Justice and;
  • BA degree from University of Phoenix in Criminal Justice
  • Graduate of the Northwestern University Executive Management Program

When asked what he hopes to accomplish in his position as Deputy Chief of Police, Deputy Chief of Police Dunn said, "I want to proactively assist in developing a more cohesive working partnership between the community and the police department."
