Welcome to the City of North Las Vegas Police Department's Detention/Corrections Division. The Division's current mission is to provide safe and secure confinement options for local misdemeanant inmates, to provide relevant Detention Center and community-based programs to a targeted group of local misdemeanant inmates, and to generate revenue through the contracting of bed space.

This division provides detention services for City misdemeanants, United States Marshal Service inmates, Immigration and Naturalization Service inmates, Federal Bureau of Prisons inmates, Clark County inmates, and inmates from other jurisdictions.

The Division also serves warrants, subpoenas and summons. Inmate transportation services include moving inmates to and from various courts within Clark County. The Division has a bike patrol that provides security for the City Hall parking complex and a City beautification program that maintains the major entrances to the City, the City’s main streets, and other specialist projects as requested by the City Council and other City Departments.

Detention/Corrections maintains a staff of approximately 219 employees and the average daily inmate population is between 774 - 835 inmates. The Division is organized under the Office of the Chief of Police with two sub-divisions: Operations and Services.
