HOW DO I REPORT SPEEDING, ILLEGALLY PARKED, OR ABANDONED VEHICLES?

When you see someone speeding or when you find an illegally parked or an abandoned vehicle in your neighborhood, please call the North Las Vegas Police Department at (702) 633-9111 or simply dial 311 to report it.

The North Las Vegas Police Department needs the community to be our eyes. Please get as much of the following information as possible without putting yourself in harms way. Regarding speeders, please report date, time of day, location, and a license number if possible. Include the type of vehicle too (i.e. truck, van, SUV, car, etc.).

With regard to illegal parked or abandoned vehicles, in addition to the information above, a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) would also be helpful. On newer cars, this number can be found by looking through the windshield at the dash on the driver's side. It is 17 characters long.

Both the license plate number and VIN number will allow Police Department personnel to run the numbers through the Department of Motor Vehicle computers to determine ownership. Additionally, personnel will run the numbers through the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) to determine if the license plate or vehicle is stolen.

Remember, filing a false report is illegal.
