WHAT NUMBER DO I CALL WHEN AN ABANDONED HOUSE IN MY AREA:

  • HAS BEEN BROKEN INTO/OR VANDALIZED;
  • HAS ANIMAL(S) LEFT BEHIND;
  • APPEARS TO HAVE A SWIMMING POOL THAT IS NOT BEING MAINTAINED?

Please call the North Las Vegas Police Department at (702) 633-9111 or simply dial 311. Please provide the property address and your concern. An officer will be sent to assess the situation. An emergency board up will be arranged if the house cannot be secured. The cost of same will be passed on to whomever is responsible for the property, whether that be the homeowner, a bank, or other responsible party.

Regarding any animals that have been left behind when the residents moved on, please immediately contact the North Las Vegas Police Department at (702) 633-9111 or simply dial 311 and report the situation. Please do not try to feed or water the animal. An Animal Control Officer will be sent out to assess the situation. If the animal appears to be suffering, the officer will take immediate action. If the animal appears to be in good health, the Animal Control Officer will post a notice on the door for the residence and observe the animal for 24 hours in case someone is caring for the animal. If there is no response within 24 hours, the animal(s) will be taken to the shelter.

Questions regarding swimming pools that are not being maintained should be directed to the North Las Vegas Building Safety Department. Their web page will provide you with contact information.
