Police Chief's Advisory Council

PEOPLE COMING TOGETHER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN NORTH LAS VEGAS

The strength of a Police Department is deeply rooted in the communities which it serves and the quality of service which is delivered each day. To achieve community expectations, the North Las Vegas Police Department strives to continuously evaluate and improve our quality of public safety. The Police Department meets some of these objectives through self-regulation, strong agency guidelines and responsiveness to community concerns and needs. Another avenue to facilitate community expectations is through community participation in the Police Department. This can be achieved through citizen academies, review boards, neighborhood councils and the Chief's Advisory Council.

The current Chief's Advisory Council is made up of 13 Community members and five Department members.

The Advisory Council has been asked to participate with the Chief in providing a voice for the community. The Council has brought forth community issues for discussion and explored solutions. Additionally they strive to assist in developing and strengthening lines of communication between the Community and the Police. On behalf of their community they devote at least two hours or more per month to the Council and its work.
