Kiel Ranch Comprehensive Development & Preservation Master Plan
Description of Project
The City of North Las Vegas has retained the services of Coe Van Loo Consultants (CVL) to create a Comprehensive Development and Preservation Plan for the future of the park. This plan will address public access to the park, preservation of the park’s cultural features, and specify the types of amenities available at the park.

December 9, 2008 PRAB Meeting
PRAB presented with three options from CVL, each option with a progressively larger use and scale. PRAB agreed on a preservation oriented option that utilized the current site.
January 14, 2009 Community Workshop
CVL presented a project overview, site history, and three designs options (see below) to the approximately 20 participants that attended the workshop. The majority of the participants supported Option 1a, preferring preservation and educational opportunities over recreation.
February 10, 2009 PRAB Meeting
CVL summarized the comments from the 1-14-09 Community Workshop and presented a new design alternative. PRAB expressed interest in some of the features proposed in Option 1c, such as relocating the parking lot and providing recreational amenities in the northwest corner of the site. There was also extensive public comment. A design workshop was scheduled for March 10, 2009 to further explore alternatives for the site.

March 10, 2009 PRAB Meeting
Design Workshop for the public and PRAB members to explore design options for the Kiel Ranch park site.
CVL orchestrated a Design Workshop between interested citizens, neighbors, and preservation professionals and PRAB members. The group came up with three designs and at the end of the meeting presented and voted on the elements they found most appealing for Kiel Ranch. CVL will present a new design at the March 24, 2008 PRAB and it will be voted on at the April 14, 2008 PRAB meeting.

March 24, 2009 PRAB Meeting
CVL presented the PRAB with a new design, Option 1e, for Kiel Ranch based on the comments and feedback from the March 10th Design Workshop.
