Shari Buck is a native North Las Vegan, who was elected to the North Las Vegas City Council in July 1999. She is serving her second four-year term, representing Ward 4.

Buck has been actively involved in the community and now serves on a number of local government boards and committees. She is a commissioner on the Colorado River Commission and vice-chairwoman of the North Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency. She is a member of the Southern Nevada Regional Planning Coalition and serves as chairwoman of the Southern Nevada Water Authority Board. She also is an ex-officio member of the Deferred Compensation Advisory Committee and an alternate member of the Clark County Regional Flood Control District Citizens Advisory Committee.

She is a former member of the North Las Vegas Library District Board of Trustees and a former member of the Colorado River Commission.

Buck graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor of arts degree in English. She also completed the Harvard University Program for Senior Executives at the John F. Kennedy School of Government.

Prior to being elected to the City Council, Buck worked as a substitute teacher in the Clark County School District. Buck is married to Keith and has four children. In her spare time, she enjoys being with her family, scuba diving and writing.
