The General Services Department is responsible for performing internal support functions that keep other City Departments operating, and it contributes to the overall functionality of City-owned facilities and equipment and ensures timely communication among the myriad operating units located throughout the City.  The department includes the Building Maintenance Division, which includes Building Custodial Services, Fleet Operations Division, the Design & Print Center, which includes the Mailroom. General Services also includes the Communications Division, which includes public information, emergency management information, internal and external communications, media relations, issue management, graphic arts and reprographics.  The Communications Division also generates news releases, produces print and collateral material and administers the City's web site.
