Community Liaison Officer

There are a number of programs available for the North Las Vegas community, including guest speakers for businesses, civic organizations, and schools, on such topics as: 9-1-1 Make the Right Call; Stop, Drop-n-Roll; Crawl low under smoke; Exit drills in the home; Sparky’s ABC’s of Fire; Fireman Frank and Friends (puppets); Supervised station tours for youth organizations; Be cool about fire safety; Test your detectors; Protect your family from fire (available in Spanish); Fire care for seniors; Fire sense for hearing impaired; Emergency evacuation (for businesses); Emergency evacuation for Health Care Facilities; Sparky’s S.A.F.E Team, and Hazard House at (www.hazardhouse.com/northlasvegas), (Your guide to disaster preparedness); and Hotel fire alert (emergency evacuation for hotels - available in Spanish). Public Information Officer (PIO)

The position of Public Information Officer is a newly assigned position established by the Department Leadership. The position is meant to bring the City of North Las Vegas inside the workings and services of the Department. The PIO will be the immediate contact for any media with regards to incidents the department may respond to, or any matters that may be requested of the Department. The position will also be responsible for matters dealing with the public, to answer any questions and respond to any requests made. The PIO will be an intricate part in establishing a positive relationship with all outside entities and the community. The primary goal of the position is to disseminate information and keep the public informed, in conjunction with working with the media to allow this to happen.
