The Fire Prevention Division works closely with the City’s Permit
Application Center and Business License Division in providing
inspections for new/existing businesses located within North
Las Vegas. Other services provided by Prevention are handling
customer inquiries/complaints, knox box applications, hydrant/
access inspections, permit fee collection (Ordinance No. 1824), temporary event permits, and hazardous material research.
(Forms are available for these services at Station 51) The Division
operates under the guidelines of the NLV Fire Code Ordinance 1782,
adopted May 7, 2003, effective July 7, 2003, as NLV
Municipal Code Title 8.16, which includes the Southern Nevada
Fire Code Amendments. Ordinance copies are available at
Station 51. The Prevention Supervisor and Fire Protection Engineer
are located at Station 51. The Fire Inspectors operate out of Fire Station 52.
