Bruce Evans
Assistant Fire Chief

Bruce Evans is the Assistant Fire Chief of Support and Business Services for the North Las Vegas Fire Department. He came to NLVFD after 18 years at Henderson Fire, serving as a firefighter/paramedic, fire suppression and EMS captain. Chief Evans is an NFPA Fire Instructor III and nationally certified EMS Instructor.
Chief Evans coordinates the College of Southern Nevada’s Fire Technology programs teaching various fire and EMS topics. Chief Evans has over 25 years experience in a variety of EMS settings, and consistently Nationally Registered as a paramedic for over 20 years. He is an adjunct faculty of the National Fire Academy in the EMS, Incident Management, and Terrorism Training programs. He holds a Masters degree in Public Administration, Bachelors degree in Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and an Associates in Fire Management from the College of Southern Nevada.
Chief Evans is a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, and is the IAFC’s liaison to the National Association of EMS physicians. Chief Evans is certified faculty for the International Public Safety Leadership and Ethics training with Phi Theta Kappa. Chief Evans publishes the bi-monthly column EMS Viewpoints in Fire Chief Magazine, and is on the editorial board for the Journal of Emergency Medical Services.
Chief Evans is the Immediate Past Chair of the Health and Safety Committee for the National Association of EMT’s. He is also a board member for the Cyanide Treatment Coalition and coordinates the mentoring program with the James O. Page Foundation.
