The Business License Division is responsible for providing service to the general public, business license applicants and existing licensees. Our objective is to assist applicants in obtaining the proper business license(s), ensure compliance of all businesses with the City’s business license ordinances and provide quality customer service.
Specifically, the business license staff prepares application checklists to aid in the application process, answers inquiries for and about existing businesses, assists applicants in the completion of the application and conducts follow-up on the approval and issuance of business licenses. In addition, written business complaints are received and investigated by the Business License Division. The Business License Division is regulated by Title
5 of the North Las Vegas Municipal Code.

Forms and Documents
Due to the number of license classifications and varying fees applicable to business licenses, applications are not available on-line. To obtain a business license application, please contact the Business License Division at 702-633-1520.
The Business License Division staff may also assist you with dog licensing.
What steps do I take to license my animal?
- First the animals must be 3 months old.
- It must have a current rabies vaccination certificate from a licensed veterinarian.
- Furnish the rabies certificate to the Business License Division, Lied Animal Shelter located at 655 North Mojave Road, or a representative of the North Las Vegas Animal Control Division. The Lied Animal Shelter is open 7 days per week, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
- Pay the annual fee of $10.00 for each sterilized animal and $25.00 for each un-sterilized animal. The license fee is reduced to $5 for each sterilized animal and $15.00 for each un-sterilized animal for senior citizens, age 65 and older and individuals qualified to receive disability benefits under Social Security or an equivalent disability retirement program. This license is required in addition to any rabies tag your veterinarian may have issued you at the time of vaccination.
- Dogs are required to wear the license tag at all times.
- A maximum of 3 dogs and/or 3 cats and/or 3 ferrets are allowed per household.
- Licenses must be renewed annually.
