Michelle Bailey-Hedgepeth works as the Assistant to the City Manager. In this position she oversees the compilation of performance measures, the organization of special projects and the monitoring of the 20-year Visioning 2025 Strategic Plan for the City. Michelle has extensive experience in research and project management. She also is responsible for organizing community and neighborhood meeting for City Councilmembers.                                               

Michelle joined the City as the Strategic Planning Analyst in May 2004 and was promoted to her current position in December 2005. Before coming to the City, she worked as the Assistant to the City Manager for the City of Champaign, IL.

Bailey-Hedgepeth holds both a Masters in Public Administration from Florida State University, Tallahassee Florida and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. She has also earned certificate in Public Management from ICMA.

Bailey-Hedgepeth is a member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA); American Society for Public Administration (ASPA); Government Managers' Association of Nevada (LOGMAN), an interactive state arm of ICMA; and the she serves as the 1st Vice President of the Las Vegas Chapter of the National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA).
