City Manager Gregory E. Rose today announced his appointments for three key upper management positions.

Rose appointed Samuel H. Chambers as Assistant City Manager of Administration, Maryann I. Ustick as Assistant City Manager of Development, and Steven W. Chapin as Director of Information Technology. Chambers and Ustick will begin work on Dec. 5. Chapin will start on Nov. 7.

These individuals are well respected in their fields and the City is fortunate to have them join the management team, said Rose. Although each persons style, experience, and background is diverse, their collective addition to my team will benefit the community of North Las Vegas for years to come.

Chambers comes to North Las Vegas from the City of Hickory, N.C., where he has been the Assistant City Manager for Operations since 1999. While there, he has supervised the Police, Fire, Public Works, Recreation, Parks and Library Departments. As the City of North Las Vegas Assistant City Manager of Administration, Chambers annual salary will be $126,000.

North Las Vegas is one of the most phenomenal growth markets in the country and offers a wealth of cultural and recreational opportunities for its citizens, Chambers said. Its a city with great vision and direction, and I am excited to become a part of it.

Ustick joins the Citys management team from Las Cruces, N.M., where she has been the Assistant City Manager since 2003. She has been overseeing the Utilities, Public Works, Airport Operations and Community Development. Ustick also coordinated the capital improvement plan, economic development and downtown revitalization efforts for Las Cruces. As the City of North Las Vegas Assistant City Manager of Development, Usticks annual salary will be $128,000.

I am looking forward to joining the City of North Las Vegas at this very exciting and pivotal time in the Citys history, Ustick said. When I visited the City, I could see and feel the energy and opportunities that growth is generating.

Chapin joins the City after a 16-year tenure with Clark County. He directed the Information Systems Department for the County from 1989 to 1999, and also held positions of Chief Information Officer, Manager of Information Technology Planning, and Management Analyst. As the City of North Las Vegas Director of Information Technology, Chapins annual salary will be $110,000.

Im excited to be coming to North Las Vegas because its a great opportunity, Chapin said. Its a dynamic city thats poised to use information technology in a way that will improve service delivery by leaps and bounds.
