North Las Vegas – City officials during Wednesday’s regular City Council meeting confirmed Gerald Allan Zochowski for the finance director post. City Manager Timothy Hacker said he was pleased with the council’s approval of Zochowski.
“Al comes to us with vast experience at various levels of government finance,” Hacker said. “I believe he will bring to North Las Vegas exceptional skills that will help us achieve our financial goals.”
Zochowski has more than 30 years of experience in government operations, most recently having worked as finance director for the Village of Lake Zurich, Ill. In his career, he held numerous top-level finance positions, including budget manager for the Village of Glenview, Ill., parks and recreation business manager for the City of Yuma, Ariz., and director of finance and chief financial officer for the City of Chicago’s Department of Sewers.
Zochowski is a certified public accountant and holds a master’s of business administration and a bachelor’s degree from Rosary College in River Forest, Ill.
Zochowski’s annual salary will be $135,000.
